In 2001, it had gotten to the point where there was enough money in it to warrant video games. Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku was one of these games. It was one of the more obvious attempts at cashing in on the franchise; being a direct adaptation of the first two sagas of the series (namely the Saiyan Saga and the Freiza Saga). Much like a lot of other video game adaptations of TV shows and movies, the first Legacy of Goku game really sucked. If I sat you down and had you play this game, and then told you that the GameBoy Advance was a 32-bit system, you most likely wouldn’t believe me. That’s how bad the graphics in this game are, because they’re very much a product of that brief period of time when game developers were still trying to work out what the exact limits of the GameBoy Advance were. Poverty alleviation program in nepal. There were a few moments where I think the animation in this game would have benefited from having been rendered for a console of the period rather than a handheld device. The mysterious island of dr moreau. These moments were mainly bits like the opening animation, where they were trying to render the opening of the show on a 32-bit console; or various parts of the game where they were showing stills from the show. These things from the anime really weren’t ever meant to be shown on a handheld console, especially not one from this point in time, and especially not this badly. All this being said, the real problem with the game isn’t in the animation. The real problem is twofold: firstly, they were trying to adapt too large a chunk of the anime to really be able to do it well given the length of the game they were trying to make, and secondly, they shot themselves in the foot by making Goku the only playable character. The Saiyan Saga and the Freiza Saga make up round about half of Dragon Ball Z; the latter of which is one of the longest sagas of the franchise. While to adapt both of them in a single game is quite a lofty goal (and would probably be possible now for a handheld, given how technology has progressed in the last fifteen years), this is something they weren’t able to do effectively at the time.
